Mulastar Activation Code Not Working? 5 Quick Fixes You Can Do Right Now
You’ve filled in your details, clicked join, and you’re ready to start earning on Mulastar. But then it happens: the STK Push doesn’t pop up, or the activation code says Invalid.
Don’t panic. This is the most common hurdle for new members in Kenya. Usually, it isn’t a problem with your money; it’s a communication error between the Mulastar server and Safaricom.
Here are the 5 quick fixes I use to get my team members activated in minutes.
How to activate your Mulastar account
Fix 1: The Manual Code Entry (Best for Delayed Messages)
Sometimes the automated system registers your payment but fails to “flip the switch” on your dashboard.
- The Fix: Go to your M-Pesa messages and copy the Transaction Code (e.g., RJL45HT9S2).
- Action: Log in to Mulastar, go to the “Activate” page, and look for a box that says “Enter M-Pesa Code Manually.” Paste it there and click “Submit.”
Fix 2: Clear Your SIM Toolkit Cache
If the M-Pesa PIN pop-up (STK Push) isn’t appearing at all, your SIM toolkit might be “clogged” by previous requests.
- The Fix: 1. Go to your phone Settings. 2. Search for Apps > SIM Toolkit. 3. Click Storage and select Clear Cache. 4. Restart your phone and try the activation again.
Fix 3: Check for Active USSD Sessions
Are you currently on a call or using another USSD code (like *144# or *544#)?
- The Fix: Safaricom cannot trigger an STK Push if another session is active. Close all apps, dial ##002# to clear any diverts, and wait 2 minutes before requesting the activation prompt again.
Fix 4: The Fuliza Factor
Mulastar activation fees must be paid in full. If you are trying to use Fuliza to cover part of the fee, the STK push may sometimes fail because the system requires a “Direct Cash” balance for certain automated merchant payments.
- The Fix: Ensure your actual M-Pesa balance (before Fuliza) is at least Ksh 50 more than the activation fee to cover the transaction costs.
Fix 5: Use the “Paybill” Alternative
If the “Pay Now” button on the website is completely unresponsive:
- The Fix: Ask your inviter/mentor for the official Mulastar Paybill Number and Account Number (usually your phone number or username).
- Action: Pay manually via M-Pesa, then use Fix #1 to enter the code into your dashboard.

If you have tried all 5 fixes and 30 minutes have passed without your account turning “Active,” it’s time to reach out.
- Take a screenshot of your M-Pesa confirmation message.
- Click the “Help/Support“ button at the bottom of the Mulastar login page.
- Send your Username and the M-Pesa Code.
Pro Tip: Avoid sending your M-Pesa PIN to anyone claiming to be “Admin” in WhatsApp groups. Official support will never ask for your PIN.
